We booked a hotel in London and paid in full for the room, because we going to a Dione Warwick concert, but then COVID hit and the concert got cancelled until October 2021, the hotel were good enough to amendment our booking to this date, but the concert has been cancelled yet again until June 2022, but the hotel are not willing to change the date, does anybody know if there anything we can legally do about this please
As the two bookings weren't part of a package, they're entirely separate contracts. So the hotel is under no obligation to you to amend the contract for something that's unrelated to their own business. Sorry!
(London's such a fantastic city to visit anyway though, and most of its attractions will hopefully be operating normally by October, so you might as well turn up for your booked accommodation and enjoy your time in our capital city).
This must vary from hotel to hotel, we had a fully paid booking in London from March 20 that we again had to cancel this year and they have honoured until March 22.
Prudie, you Hotel would have honoured the booking as you were not legally allowed to stay away from home in March. In the OP's case her hotel is expecting to be fully operational by October.
Check the T&Cs of your booking. I would imagine that you got a cheap rate, no cancellation deal. If you are allowed to cancel for a refund, just do that.
