BGT ...... Britain's Got Talent ..... Why is it still called that? With acts from India, Trinidad, Hawaii, Bolivia and more foreign places. Also why did Simon pretend not to know about the act he was involved in ..... there is no way he would allow himself to take part in such a "dangerous" act without knowing all about it ! Moan over ....any comments?

Why oh why are Saturday nights filled with rubbish television? Gone are the days of enjoying quality family TV entertainment at the weekend.

I can't remember Saturday night tv being particularly good - wasn't that when the likes of The Price is Right, The Generation Game and Blind Date were shown? And football. Noel's House Party. All those talent shows such as The X Factor. No thanks.
I used to enjoy Parkinson but today's similar shows leave me cold.
I forgot Strictly Come Dancing, we used to watch it but gave up on that a few series ago.

It’s a wonder Simon Cowell’s head didn’t melt …. He looks like a waxwork. I record it and skim thru all the adverts and noises from Holden and Dixon. Yuk.

Barry, I go back much further than that. When there were dramas and Sunday night at The London palladium etc. All the shows you mention seem quite recent to an old lady like me!

But we don't do football in this house!

Sunday night TV has always been much better than Saturday nights, I think the TV execs believe everyone is too busy having fun to sit and watch TV on a Saturday night.

Tales of the Unexpected were always good weekend entertainment. I liked the introductory music and the gyrating lady. Reminded me of an old girlfriend. :-)

Just thinking now how I loved all the westerns back in the 50s and 60s. I'm quite shocked when my son tells me he's never heard of Wagon Train, Rawhide, Bonanza, Laramy, etc etc. Those were the days!

I never enjoyed Westerns, I don't like most films or TV series based in the US. Cheers and Frasier are exceptions.

We prefer British series and films. But I must nothing beats Breaking Bad.

I don't think they should show acts that "apparently" pour lighter fluid over people before "setting it alight" with the warning 'don't try this at home'. I think it's wrong. This is not a talent and I'm surprised that Simon Cowell thinks it's OK, because it isn't.
