The Hotel I Was Booked Into At Xmas
Has burned down. I have had no official word from Britannia hotels. I have rang several times and was
told someone would call back. Noone has been in touch. I've only paid the deposit. What more can I do ?

Britannia staff are probably trying to work out what alternatives they might be able to offer customers who were booked into the Royal Albion. (If they offer you a stay at the Grand Burstin in Folkestone, I'd suggest accepting. It doesn't get the greatest of reviews but I've stayed there and I feel sure that it would be a great place for a Christmas break). So give them a little time before going into panic mode about it.

I would give them a bit longer to sort things out, it must be a huge shock for them and they have people to move who are booked in this week, next week and the week after before they get to the later bookings.
Maybe try again in a couple of weeks time.
I would hesitate to suggest you accept the Folkestone hotel myself, it is almost full with asylum seekers now and might be just about OK for one night but not an ideal place to spend a relaxing Christmas.
