Antigua is pretty good. As is Grand Cayman. And Barbados (we swam with turtles there and there was a ship wreck to snorkel over)

Thanks for the response, flipflop!
When are you going? I'm jealous! And where are you going?

British Virgin Isles (and US too), Andros in Bahamas, anywhere off Belize. As well as above, too.

Look for 'underwater parks' as these will be protected zones.

We travel frequently and have been to: St. Lucia; Puerto Rico; Eleuthera; Jamaica; Grand Cayman; Curacao; Bonaire; Cozumel; Cancun; Playa del Carmen; Tankah Bay; Belize... in search of perfect privacy, seclusion, wildlife, engrossing snorkeling off the beach. I'm a diver, but really just prefer a great snokeling spot -- easier. Currently we are looking at St. John for next December.

This December we will be in Solimon Bay (hour south of Cancun).

I have and rent vacation properties: Mexico www.fishermensvillage.net; Arizona, www.vacationhometucson.com and Florida www.palmhaven.net

I also have an oceanfront/beachfront lot on Long Island Bahamas -- that I'm wanting to sell if anyone is interested. www.oceanfront-beachfront.com

Thanks for your comments on Antiqua and Barbados. Haven't been to either of those.

Thanks, Nickmo!!

I must say though I did not like Belize because you had to get on a boat really to see anything. Off shore seemed to be mostly very shallow with lots of sea grass.

I did love Eleuthera. St. Lucia is also awesome.

i can recommend Dominica, Champagne reef.

Bonaire, just there last Tuesday, heaven!

The snorkelling from shore in Cozumel is fantastic. Jacques Cousteau rated it top ten in the world.

Sharm El Sheik in the Red Sea is great too!
