My son has held a full motorbike licence for five years. Clean licence, no convictions. Now he's thinking about driving lessons. Will he have to take the theory and hazard perception tests again, or will they still count from when he did them for his motorbike test?
I'd held a driving licence for 6 years before I went for my full bike licence and had to do all the tests - theory, hazard perception, number-plate reading, pointing out parts on the bike, practical.
They're basically counted as two seperate driving skills.
Thanks for this guys. I had thought as much. As Bob says, my son's roadcraft is pretty well honed, and at least he'll have had real experience of the theory tests (he was one of the first in the country to take hazard perception). I think his only real work is going to be the actual manoevering of the vehicle, although he's driven vans around the yard at work.
