first link in google looks good - http://flyingwithoutfear.info/
I quite agree, nasty modern contraptions like aircraft that weigh so much it is obvious that they must fall down when you least expect it.
I assume that your hubby will also not use a taxi or bus or train or a lift or the rides at disneyland etc...or anything else that he is not in control of or is it just that he doesn't like to admit that he is afraid of flying.
I know someone who attended a course similar to the one in theo's link and it worked for them so maybe thats you first thing to try.

If it all fails on the flying front, if you are in the south of England, think about the ferry to Bilbao or Santander in Spain, and make the holiday a family 'sail and drive' across say to the south of France, to Italy or a round trip in the north of Spain or even down to Portugal.

Might do for a nice break and a change. Some ferry routes here: http://www.directferries.co.uk/spain.htm

There a few companies offering trial flights that are designed to overcome the fear of flying inc. the above plus see: http://www.aviatours.co.uk/

Thanx i'm gonna get him to google theo's link,it may also be worth looking at nickmo's links but you're right qapmoc, although the only thing he uses in your list is the taxi (and thats only under pressure)and went on ONE ride with the kids last year, yeah,of course its fear of flying, just need a way to get him past it,thanx for ideas!!
As an additional thought - what about train to Italy etc. All has to be possible.

I guess sobut the more i think of it,why should we go by train cos he isn't brave enough to fly, think,,,MR T,big bloke, mohican, tattoos and,,,,,,,WONT FLY!!!!!

You can drive to Spain quite easily, I have done that several times.

If your husband wants to, he can try to get professional help for his problem. If not, I think you should not push him!

And after reading your last post, I would like to add, that one of the big problems of phobias is, that many people ridicule them (like you seem to be doing).

As his partner, you should support him!

Or you could go on a Med cruise (http://www.pocruises.co.uk) which will take you to various countries in the Med and you can board the cruise liner in Southampton and return there as well - no flying involved whatsoever - and you get to visit loads of places AND travel in LUXURY.

You can also go to the Caribbean on a cruise ship from Southampton. FABULOUS! but he'd have to fly back (he'd have no choice at that point lol) - although I personally would prefer to fly there as well as you then get two weeks in the Carib instead of only one (it takes about 5 days to cross the Atlantic)
