You can also travel across the plain towards Inca, and this line is being extended towards Alcudia/Pollensa, but I'm not sure how far it's got yet.

There are two train companies. FSM run services from Palma to Sa Pobla and from Palma to Manacor. (Both services are via Inca). FS operate services from Palma to Soller.
