Things to do in London for a week....?
My Australian girlfriend and her sister will be in London from the 4th June till 11th June.
As they will be backpacking money is obviously an issue.
What kinds of sights/events/places do you recommend they take in?
As well as the "must see' suggestions I am also interested in more specialized local knowledge ie awesome cafes, less well known places of interest etc.
Thanks for your time.

Hi arthur, if the weather is good the parks in London are superb,Hyde park/Kensington gardens are are glorious, there are also some lovely walks, the walk from Houses of parliament up to trafalgar square (national gallery) well worth a visit they can then go through admiralty arch stroll down to Buckingham palace you are then near to hyde park,Harrods in Knightsbridge is also within walking distance, If they get the underground to Tower Hill they will see The Tower of London,Tower Bridge, and a short walk from there is the Monument, great view from the top, long walk up a spiral staircase, (commemorates the great fire of London)
Covent gardens is a great place with cafes and street entertainers, and if they have the time take a trip out to Richmond Park or Hampton Court (great place) or Kew Gardens, hope this helps, Ray

This site offer theatre + dinner deals for under 20.00 (around 38 dollars) pretty cheap by London standards. I'm sure if they were to visit a tour operator they may be able to get it a bit cheaper.
