The name in English of a fruit on sale in Thassos Greece
4 Answers
Hi, we go self catering on holidays. We came across a small, very green, fruit; something like an unripe greengage. It was labelled δαμασκηνα but the owner of our studio, who spoke very good English, did not know its name in English nor have I been able to find it in any dictionary. Probably these were too simple. It tasted as it looked - quite tart. Can anyone help?
