If I bought my teenage son a motorbike, would he have to have to get it taxed to push it on the road to the scrambling track? I would be grateful if anybody could answer this question as I don't want him to get in any trouble but I would like to get him a field bike.

Basically, no. It only needs to be taxed if it is "used or kept" on a road. Therefore pushing it along a road does not constitute either of these.
