Hello everyone, I am travelling to Botswana and Namiba in Dec/Jan. Having trouble selling the idea to my husband, he says that they will be nothing to do in Namiba and we will be bored. Does anyone have any experience of the area? Many thanks in advance if you can help.
If you're into that sort of thing, there will be a lot of charities that you can get involved with that help the people out there, as I'm sure you are aware that it is poverty ridden. My friend went to Botswana and I think Namibia also...she absolutely loved it and went back after her first year of uni.
Namibia: go on (or fly over) the skeleton coast, where skeletons of ships are washed up... drive through the oldest deserts in the world... watch animals in the Etosha Reserve... visit the Africat foundation at Okonjima... see the seals at Walvis Bay... go looking for desert elephants...
Friends I know who have been to Namibia have absolutely loved it. Can only speak of my experience of Botswana which is such a wonderful place I went back for my 40th birthday this year. If hubby can ride, go on a horse-riding safari, out of this world...
