Depends what you expected. Went to the circket ground, west coast beaches and the rum factory. People great. Blue buses cheap and efficient, yellow ones less so. Woolworths in the town centre very good and cheap for things like toothbrushes and basic goods but I did not expect London style from what is basically a poor country. It's still my favourite caribbean island.
I'm with danny... it's not a hip duty-free shopping mall for tourists, it's a working town for locals, and not really any better or worse than a town of similar size anywhere else. So it depends what you wanted of it.
You go to the Carribean for the beaches, weather and to drink rum, not to go shopping. If you want to go shopping I suggest Blue Water in Kent, lots of shops and you could probably get a rum cocktail. Blue Water is sadly lacking the weather and beaches, but then horses for courses!!
pomp, i think yuou misunderstood my question. I didnt go to barbados to shop, i went for my honeymoon. And thanks for the blue water tip, im not a chav so i wont be shopping there. ****
