But anyway pay for a ride up in the lift & a guide will talk you thru all the sights. Its also near a church with a crypt & bones of Knights under it & some famous Organ that some dead composer once played at . Bit vague I know. Get the red tour bus. It stops at all these places...Oh' its also near the oldest pub.. but yep ...I cant remember its name either.!!!!
Definitely do the hop on/hop off bus tours. I'd say go round it on the first day as it goes past the main attractions, and then you can choose which ones you fancy going to.
I'd recommend Kilmainham Jail which I thought was great. Although I do have a strange obsession with prisons.
And don't miss the award winning "The Chameleon Indonesian Restaurant " in the Temple Bar area. The most amazing food I've ever eaten.

iwas there in july for 4days and had a great time but beware its very expensive!! the temple bar is a must go to the Boxty house for great traditional Irish food[good craic too] down the side of the Oconnell bridge ththeirs a hotel that irish nights [river dance etc] for free and its fantastic the hotel has a lot of flags outside we also went up the Wicklow mountains and Dublin zoo2 great days oh and dont forget to go toLeo Burdocks for fish and chips the best i,ve ever had!![its just up the road at Rathmines
