how to get to the airport

helloo, what would be the easiest, fastest and preferably cheapest way to get to gatwick from the stockwell tube station sort of area. we'll have quite big bags and dont know the area at all so any help would be very appreciated so we dont end up lost somewhere dragging our bags around and missing our flight. thanks

It might be cheaper, though, to take the Northern Line to London Bridge and then take a First Capital Connect train from there.
Dzug's suggestion is probably best though. The National Express stop is on South Lambeth Road, roughly midway between Lansdowne Way and Stockwell Terrace. Departures are hourly (at 10 minutes past each hour),with a one hour journey time.
