Easy Jet Delay
Our flight from Faro to Newcastle was delayed on Thursday evening due to technical failure. We were put on a flight to Luton the following day, and the flight stopped at Newcastle (to the inconvenience of the Luton passengers.)
Other passengers were flown to Stanted and Liverpool.
Given that I lost a day at work, is it possible to claim anything from the airline?...or do I just accept this as one of the perils of flying with a budget airline?
I've flown with them many times before, but recently, I have experienced delays and another flight I booked for October to Geneva has been cancelled. Is anyone else disenchanted with this airline?

Easyjet will claim that the technical failure was beyond their control and that therefore they are not obliged to pay any compensation. I doubt if a non-budget airline would pay anything either, though they sometimes look after you rather better during the delay.

I think you should just grin and bear it. If it were Ryanair that was operating the flight, I'm sure you'd still be stuck in Faro now, so count yourself lucky that easyJet got you home in one piece.
And don't be put off by the fact that you have arrived home a day late. A lot of people (not necessarily you) will complain in a situation like this, however, a technical fault means that the aircraft is probably better on the ground than it is in the air - god only know what could happen! easyJet may have delayed the flight, but they have put the safety of their passengers first.
