would like to go to mexico in january,not keen on nightlife or busy places,need to relax in peace and quiet in a lovely hotel on the beach, can anyone recommend a hotel and resort.

i have been to the hotel but didnt stay there. its about 15 mins from the centre of cancun and is in the middle of knowhere yet still close enough....it is a lovely hotel and i know first choice operate from there. i had a lovely holiday in cancun and would go back tomorrow....equally xel-ha is ment to be good as is cozumel

how are the prices, for eating out, gift buying and drinks. We fancied going to Mexico where it is really quiet, its a rest we need you see

the moon palace cancun,absolute sheer luxury,my daughter got married there and a party of us stayed there,the rooms are out of this world,jucuzzi in the room with towels shaped into swans, different restaraunts, waiter service on the private beach,all inclusive, it was october we were there,and booked through thomsons,it was expensive, but worth every penny.

I think the overall flight/hotel package prices for all inclusive are on par with what you would find if you went anywhere else.

I found the cost of eating out, drinking and gifts etc to be the same as any holiday place.

Would definately rate mexico for a holiday...in fact i cant wait to go back at some point!
