I do as I would in England.

So, 10% in a restaurant if service is not included, otherwise, just the small change.

A $ or � for a bell-boy. A � a day for housekeeping... you get the picture...

If you are going to tip in foreign currency, dollar notes are better as there is an issue about changing pound coins in local banks.

I'd take around �20-30 in one dollar notes and use this as tips (with the current exchange rate, you should get $35-50 dollars for your money)
