Seasick, not very. Other sick, very high. I have taken 27 cruises and spoken to many people who have taken even more, including Nile cruises. Every single one has reported a gastric problem from their holidays on the Nile. The chances get less the more upmarket you go but you have to be very careful with handwashing and general cleanliness. You, of course, have no control over the food preparation.

Thanks I look forward to that then!
try to stick to stuff that you can see cooked (eg on a grill), skip the salads, only eat fruit you've peeled, drink bottled water and use it to brush your teeth.
We went on a nile cruise last year. I have to say that everything was first class, excellent service, food and accommodation. By the end of it, though, I felt I had seen enough temples and other Egyptian bits and pieces to last me a lifetime. It would have been nice to have a bit more free time, I don't know about other cruises as I have only been once but ours was a bit organised for my taste. I am pleased i went, it was a unique experience, but I won't be going again
dont touch ice cream of watermelon or anything they can add tap water to. Take plenty of tablets for diarrohea as a stand by and roll on mosquito repellant from Boots, its small enough to carry in your handbag.

Thanks as I said its just me and my daughter - I booked it today. I will take all your advise. Thanks again
I don't think you'll have a problem with seasickness, but I just wanted to say that when we went, no-one on our boat had any sickness or upset tummies. The boat had some sort of a filter system and used the filtered water for washing salads and cooking. Remember to take 2 water bottles each, one for drinking from, and another for using to clean your teeth. Also take hand/wet wipes or a small bottle of alcohol rub for cleaning your hands, some of the money is really grubby, so its a good idea to be careful when out. We have eaten in 'local' restaurants and had no problems. Mind you, I have seen the Felluca guys just dip a glass into the Nile and drink the Nile water! Wouldn't fancy that, but they seem to be ok.
Hope you enjoy yourselves, I'm hoping to go back again next year.
