How far in advance to purchase airline

How far in advance is is best to purchase airline tickets? I'm traveling to Florida in February of 2008. I understand I can't purchase tickets more than 330 days in advance but is that the smartest thing to do. Should I wait until summer or fall of 2007 to purchase the tickets or purchase them as soon as possible?

If you purchase them as soon as they go on sale you will probably pay over the odds and possibly face flight changes when the airlines finally settle their schedules.

Wait for the airlines to have a sale maybe 3 or 4 months before flying.

its an awful long time ahead and please God it doesnt, but a lot of things could change your mind/ circumstances before them and you may have purchased tickets that you cant change.
Feb isnt a popular month for Florida so you should be able to get cheaper seats nearer the date. Good luck.
