Best thing to do in Las Vegas?
My boyfriend and I are going to Las Vegas for New Year, does anyone have any suggestions as to what we definitely should/shouldn't do? Thanks...

And/or take a helicopter trip over Vegas itself!
Also don't forget to check out the shows at the casinos. You can often see world class stars for low prices.
Don't get carried away gambling! It's very easy to hit a 'winning streak' and get sucked into the whole atmosphere. Everyone has to have a go, it's part of the fun, but work out what you can afford (really afford) to loose, and when that's gone, walk away. You only have to look at the size and opulance of any of the casinos to work out who the long-term winners are in Las Vegas
A nice memento is to try and bring back a pair of dice from as many casinos as you can...they have to change them every 8 hours by law (along with cards from blackjack tables) and each set has the casinos name stamped on them.....they only cost a few dollars a piece.....Other than that don't forget to say hi to Gil Grissom for me!
The shows are amazing in Vegas, Try the Blue Man Group if you enjoy 'different' music shows or Penn and Teller for a funny magic show. For a night out the dualling Piano bar in New York New York is a must as is the Coyote Ugly Bar next door. A word of warning, if you are under 30 or look under 30, take photo ID as proof of age as most theme bars have a policy of asking for ID from anyone who appears to be under 30. Have a great time, I did!
Walk around in as many of the "hotels" as you can. They are entertainment in themselves. eg, Some have shopping arcades like little villages - & the Venetian simulates Venice, the Rialto Bridge, Gondalas et al! Including a sky-painted roof so you feel you are strolling around outside, rather than inside a building!
One of the hotels (I forget which - sorry!) has a fountain that "comes to life" every hour and acts out a battle of Fire Vs Water with special effects - very impressive in the over-the -top mind-blowing way that only the U.S. can provide!!
For views of the strip, you should go go up the Eiffel Tower - yes they have built their own!, and also the Statosphere Tower. No this is really impressive - the panarama from up there is breath-taking. Plus if you-re really brave, there is one of those gravity drop rides, and a roller-coaster around the outside of the spire at the very top... There is also a roller coaster all aroun the New York New York Hotel.
Lastly, I would say have a look at the dancing fountains outside the Bellagio Hotel, the white tiger, and lion enclosure, just inside the MGM, and Luxor - the huge Pyramid shaped hotel with its slanting lifts, and pyramid simulator ride.
