the conditions of travel say airlines don't have to pay much, so you'd almost certainly be better trying your insurance company. Travel insurers often have pretty tight conditions too, so you might do even better still claiming under household insurance.
its actually my daughters luggage, im not sure what her insurance says about lost luggage, will have to wait til she gets home, i lost my luggage before and claimed from travel insurance. thanks anyway
it will depend what was in it. I lost a couple of cameras last year and travel insurance for valuables wasn't nearly enough to cover it. But Norwich Union paid out straightaway without a fuss.
u cannot claim on ur daughter behalf, it has to be her doing it when she comes home,,,
if u go through ur/the airline she might/will only get what they call incidental expences which depends on class of travel,, can be from 35.00,, travel insrance u will/might get more...
under the montreal convention u can claim on both..
so it is up 2 u..
remember on travel insurance u have or might have an excess to pay which the airline will not pay u back...
