Hi there, I'm off to Sharm El Sheikh in a fortnight ,just wondering if anyone has any tips on things to do , things not to do etc local customs , I know I can google this but its better getting it straight from fellow travellers
I know I've asked a couple of times , but you can never be too prepared , lol . I'm a bit worried actually , reading reports of where I am staying and its nowhere near ready yet , been misled by first choice...........
been there loads of times . when you get of the plane you have to buy a visa around 20 they will try to make you buy one to get out as well you dont need to. also they will charge you 1 for each suitcase they point out for you on the carasel so find your own. they will charge you 1 for toliet paper in the toliets so take tissues. once out of the airport they will charge you for every thing so ignore them. it is like running a gaulent but just ignore them they are friendly but are after english 1 all the time theres are 10 to one of ours! sharm el sheikh is very busy in the resturants check theyre are a few other diners in before you go in this is usually a sign its a good resturant stear clear of empy ones. drin plently bottled water and if you do get egyptian belly go to there chemists they have the right medicine which does work not the english ones which dont. . if you go to valley of kings it is a very long day 4 am start in hot coaches which are in a convoy for protection with only 1 stop and it is very very hot. but worth it i think .only go on organise trips from hotels taxis are available all the time they beep you neogiate a price before you get in there are hundreds so you will be pestered if you walk anywhere by them beeping at you but you neogiate small amount just say no if you think its to high and another will be behind. every thing is bartering best price.
