loadsa websites, too much info to digest, so would be grateful for a potted '20 words or less' description of what it would be like living on Guernsey please ie. jobs/shopping/price of living/quality of life/comparison to a part of england (if a part of england exists that is similar?) etc. thanks

I've not been to guernsey only jersey but guess it's more or less the same. here's my views. :) Weathers nicer. No VAT. Houses very expensive! Banks work a day behind the mainland. don't think you can compare it to england. love the place! very laid back way of life. when i win the lottery.......... :)
I live on Guernsey, so here it goes. Weather is marginally better, we have no VAT, houses are stupidly expensive; when its foggy planes don't land so you dont get your English papers or post; it is nice if you can handle living on an Island. Quality of life is pretty good, certainly better than UK, less crime, less pollution, less traffic (only just!)
