renewing passport

i sent my passport away last monday to be renewed and got my old one back today. just wondered whether anyone has renewed theirs very recently to try and work out when i may receive my new one?

Hi. As you have now received your old passport, the new one will arrive within the next couple of days.
The new one will be delivered by hand or special courier.

My son and daughter both renewed theirs last month and it took about 7 days but arrived by normal mail.
