Heloooo....Sorry this is such a ridiculous question, but I am geographically challenged, shall we say and struggle to find my way round tescos... but anyway....
Are manchester and leeds close to each other and are they classed as the west midlands? If not, what is classed as west mids? And where is huddersfield closer to...leeds or manchester... and how far are these above mentioned places from liverpool??
Sorry for the barrage of questions...

Manchester (in the north west) and Leeds (in the north) are about 40 miles apart and are NOT in the in West Midlands. The West Midlands is around Birmingham, Wolverhaompton, Coventry etc.

Liverpool is in the North West and is about 35 miles from Manchester.

I suggest you buy yourself an atlas!
