Unless you have family there, buy a business there, go to school there, or have a job offer, then no way...
If you want a taste of the life, try getting on something like the Disney programme for temp placements for a summer job - they have workers on basic wages for summer posts in the theme parks and studios on Student posts and internships - might be one way for you....search disney careers for info.
Otherwise - get a grip and enjoy the lovely country that is home to the dreaming spires, those happy few, this England!!! (and Scotland, Wales and N.Ireland of course...)

How much time have you spent there in the past? And where did you stay? I worked over there for a couple of years and it was great, but I didn't think it was really any better (or worse) than anyplace else. And one of the towns I worked in was a complete ****hole. As everyone else said it's really hard to get into America unless you are in a very desirable career and unless you are lucky/rich you could end up living in a crappy town that will make you dream about being back in Blighty. I'd definitely recommend you try and get over there on some student summer job programme to actually see if you could live there permantly. Coz if you just want to get out of the UK you may be better off going somewhere else (friends of mine who have emigrated to NZ, Australia and Canada seem to have a much better life than people I know who have gone the the States).
I don't know about getting into the US, but I can tell you that living over here will be very difficult if you don't have a good job. You'll have to waitress or work for not much above minimum wage which is only $6.40 an hour. I would strongly advise you to try and do what some of the other people have suggested and get into a study abroad, exchange student program or some other trial work program.
I've had a little more time to think about your question and as you're only 16 you've got plenty of time to study, which is the best thing to do. If you have a specialist career you have a much better chance of getting a job in the States. Eg Mr Spudqueen has a Phd in physics and could actually apply for a job in the States if he so wanted. My friends brother got a lot of qualifications (sorry - don't know what exactly) and he now lives in Florida. I have also heard of nurses, doctors and policemen/women who have all emigrated to the US. Think about your strengths and play to them. Get a good education and build up your qualifications and work experience in your chosen field. This way you have the best chance. Good luck.
