haven't been there myself but I've been to other Comfort Inns and they were ok, nothing special but not expensive. If you get a dud room, you can always ask to change.
I agree with Jno - I haven't stayed at the one in Orlando, but the other Comfort Inns I have stayed in have been decent serviceable hotels. Not fancy or upscale, but clean and safe.

Also, if you are going to Universal and/or Islands of Adventure, consider the "fast pass". It can be a little expensive ($20-$50) depending on the day you go but it will be the best money you'll spend on your entire vacation. It cuts the wait in the lines down to 5-10 minutes vs 60 on some rides. The food bracelet is not worth it however unless you are going to eat a LOT of food there.
I went to Orlando with the kids 5 years ago and was booked into a comfort inn in International drive.
I took one look at it and got straight back into the car and booked into the Holiday Inn down the road despite being desperate to get my head down due to it being about 2 in the morning.
The room was dirty with a distinct smell of urine.
Maybe I was unlucky maybe it's better 5 years later or maybe not
