mattress or mattress topper
I recently bourght a new single bed, the mattress was only 30 and i can feel the metal springs, i have about 100 to spend, so do i buy a new mattress and would i get a good one for that price, or do i buy one of those feather or foam mattress toppers, some of the feathered ones are up to 6"thick and it says they revive old mattresses, as i cant afford to make a mistake i would really appreciate any advice anyone has, and has anyone out there bourght a mattress topper and were they any good? my bed has wooden slatts.

I have just got a duck feather mattress topper and I am very pleased with it. It is warm and very comfortable. All you need to do is shake it once a week to ensure the feathers are spread evenly.
Shop around though as there can be huge differences in price. I would have thought that a single one should only cost 35 - 45

Mattress toppers from what I know are mostly made of latex. Descriptions of some of them you can find http://mattressesguid...atex-mattress-topper/ Media URL: http://mattressesguide.com/latex-mattress-topper/

As with anything in life, the answer lies in common-sense.
A $30 mattress is hugely unlikely to provide you with the support you need.
Although it is true that a mattress topper can rejuvenate an old bed, it would be a bit foolish to put a brand new high quality topper on a terrible mattress.
It's like buying $4000 tires for a $200 car...

Could get one of these as they're relatively cheap, but a great quality.
