How should one start their scooter when doing the practicalm bike test? It is a Vespa T5, with kickstart and no electric ignition. Is it okay to kick it over on the stand, or does it have to be done whilst sitting on it?

As you need the ignition on (non bike riders note) and to observe the green neutral light it would only be right that you should be sat on the bike and have it off the stand to start it.You wouldn't start a car through the drivers window would you? Hope this helps.
The above methos is the correct one and the one that should have been taught to you when you sat your CBT but you can start the bike without being sat on it, it won't lose you any mark as it were and the examiner will take a mental note that you haven't followed the prescribed procedure but if this is the only thing you do wrong it won't fail you your test......Good Luck and I hope you join the rest of the two wheeled brigade soon.
