I travelled to Oz in September with jars of Marmite and Bisto veggie gravy granules in my case -which those I was visiting said I would be allowed through. I suggest you look at the web link someone sent you and see what food types you would like to take - basically you can't have raw food, plant stuffs etc (ie herbs). So long as the foods you are carrying definitely aren't on the government disallowed list, I suggest you carry them in your case, but on arriving in Australia you will be given paperwork to fill in - one asking if you're carrying on food stuffs. Tick yes, and declare them on arrival. There will then be a few of you in the declaration queue where they simply scan your case and will probably ask you to open it so they can look at your foods. If they don't like it, they'll take it from you at this point - however, you won't be punished as you'll have declared it. This is exactly what I did, and I was allowed to continue on through. Hope this helps and I'm not too late replying. You're going to have a fab trip!
