I am planning a surprise for my wife's birthday ' do you know of any romantic hotels in the UK that I could contact?

depends where you live but i can recommendThe Wild Boar at Crook near Windemere in the Lake District. Small hotel good food and 4 poster beds if you want one.

I recommend the Bailiffscourt Hotel which is located about 30 minutes from Brighton. We went last year for my birthday and it was lovely -- our room had a 4 poster bed and a fireplace. The best part about this hotel was that we booked our room through lastminute.com and paid 1/2 the price!

We got married in Stroud Gloucestershire in July and stayed in a village called Painswick.

The really beautiful B & B we stayed in was 'Cardynham House'. There is a website - I recommend paying extra and getting the pool house. If not the next nice room is 'Dovecote'. The breaky was fab and the B & B also runs a Thai restaurant which is fab. We loved it peace and quiet and romantic!!
