In my experience, it is usually cheaper in the resort.

A supermarket/shop at the nearest village/town to the resort is almost certainly the cheapest - not the resort (hotel or whatever) itself but the difference may not be huge. You can find out on the way out and decide for bringing back - UK airport is likely to be about the most expensive, barring some very special offer.
