Passport
I am travelling to New York for 5 days tomorrow and I notice that my passport expires at the end of september 08. Will I be refused admission as I have less than 6 months left?

No you won't.
If you have a UK (and many others) passport you can travel as long as it is valid when you leave the US. There is one of the specific country agreements in place that titchfield's quote mentions
