Is it worth a trip to Paris in August or do Parisians leave the city en masse for holidays?

Yes they do, and their places are filled by coachloads of tourists. Paris is always beautiful but even more beautiful in Spring or autumn

Well, if they all ****** off wouldn't it be better?

To quote whoever: "Paris is wasted on the French".
Don't expect it to be deserted though, will you? lol

Paris is always busy, regardless of the time of year
Paris is heaven for drivers in August; you can actually find a parking spot quite easily (was free don't know whether it still is) and drive around the city no problem. Quite a few caf�'s and restaurants are closed though
