Have you a pink licence, if so do you know when it expires? I just read in `The Mail` page 31, that many people forget to check on the front of their licence (No 4b item) and could find themselves in for a surprise, a �1000. fine if it`s expired after 10years. Have a look at yours. It costs �17.50 to renew.

I remember this being a major bone of contention when the photo licences were introduced - after all, the old style lasted until you were 70, and needed changing only if you changed your name or address.

How fortuitous that the Government remembered to levy the fee 2 months before the first renewals were due.
