jet2 luggage allowance

we are only allowed 17kg for each suitcase,i have just weighed them and they are about 19kg each,has anyone recently travelled with them and had to remove stuff on the way out?or are they quite leniant?going out from manchester to portugal.thanks for any advice!

you will be charged per kilo for any bag over 17kg. Sometimes they may let you off if in a good mood but not often as this is where they make their extra money to compensate the cheap flight costs.

Budget airlines don't make most of their profits from ticket sales. That make them from charging for 'extras'. For that reason, their staff are instructed to apply the rules very strictly. So you'll be charged �6 per excess kg at Manchester and �9 per excess kg on your return flight.

To be fair to the airlines, excess baggage charges aren't simply about making profits. The flight engineer has to order fuel from the ground team, based upon the loading of the aircraft. The heavier the baggage on board, the more fuel the airline has to pay for.

oh well thanks anyway,i cant take any more out,we are taking a 4 monthold baby so we have EVERYTHING packed in for him!even though he hasn't got a baggage allowance or a seat we still had to pay �14 for him!scandelous(spellin?)isn't it!monday morning i dont think they will be in a good mood!!haha!thanks anyway!
