I've been quite a few times, always between January and April. Generally Nov-March are best. Nov/Dec and April/May are Ok.

The Jamaican rhyme they use about hurricane seasons is:

June too soon
Ju-ly stand by
Au-gust prepare you must
September remember
Oct-ober all o-ver

So, You should be alright in June, July is a bit iffy, avoid August, September you could be unlucky and Oct is usually ok!

Hope that helps!

thanks so much, yes it does!
the official hurricane season is June-November, but hurricanes sometimes forget to read the manual - they went on until January a couple of years ago. Even if there's one around your chances of being hit by it are pretty small, though.

But as Kira says, the best time is the northern winter.
