Hi,

We are going to Marrakech, Morrocco next month and am just trying to find out some more info on it, i.e. if pound stirling is accepted? what day trips are good to go on/worth a visit? etc

you shouldn't have any trouble exchanging sterling, dollars or euros at a bank to spend, but you might not find shops that take them. In souks they'll probably take anything, but watch the exchange rates they give you.

Ourika Valley and kasbahs in the Atlas mountains can be reached on day trips; they're all very scenic and worth doing. I think you can get to Essaouira on the coast too.
I did an overnight trip into the desert with this company - it was fabulous. One of the best experiences of my life. We also stayed at a private riad and we got the owner to arrange a walking tour round the local area on the 1st day - this was very worth while. You will love it there - such a great atmosphere.

Euros are accepted everywhere in Morocco. Marrakesh is a beautiful and fascinating city which I am sure you will love.
