Winter Olympics

I was watching the England bob sleigh team being interviewed last night - they came 17th and apparently they had to fund themselves to enter the winter olympics. When asked if they will be entering the Winter Olympics in Russia, they replied if we were in the top 10 then they would get funding but obviously being 17th place they dont.

Does'nt seem right, does it.

The lack of support from our governing bodies for our top level athletes is a complete disgrace.

The people who run GB sports should stop spending all the money on "fact finding visits" (ie. free holidays) and "canvassing the heads of international sports" (ie. p!ssing the money up the walls of expensive restaurants) ... and leave some of the money where it belongs ... with the athletes !!

I agree JJ - I thought all the competitors who enter the Olympics get sponsorships etc, but according to these fellas, thats not the case.

No, it's not.

Only a few weeks before the Winter Games, it looked as though the Team GB athletes would have to pay for their own air fares and accommodation !!

It's a complete disgrace, when the fat-bellied decision makers in their suits are flitting around the World on expenses.

apparantley GB invested £5million for the GB winter olympics hoping to bring back at least 3 medals..... how many did GB win?just one gold! ...
