I want to renew my 10 year passport, my daughter who is now 10 is also on it. I take it she will get one of her own can i do this by post?

Yes you do do it by post but you first need to pick up the forms at your local Post Office. They will tell you that they will check them for you at  a cost of �5 each but theres really no need they are very straight forward.

don't all children need their own passport now anyway? I thought I heard something about joint passports being phased out.
you can now renew your passport application online or change all the details on lone and they will send you a preanswered application through the post when you have answered all the relevant questions.

Yes, children need their own passport.  You can no longer have a child on your passport.  This came in 1998.  I found the Post Office form checking service helpful.

rgrading passport if i dont have a passport can i still apply for a provisional licence renewal
Not strictly true, any NEW ppts issued have to be separate for the children. But any that have them on already are valid until the ppt expires
