have to go to Heathrow in the morning to meet a family member, can I use my pass at 6.30am ?

What sort of pass is that and how will you be travellling to Heathrow?

If it's a Freedom pass and you are travelling by normal bus or tube, then yes

If you are thinking of using National Express or the Heathrow Express then no

If you will be using National rail - it depends on the route Map here:

its a good old senior citizen's Feedom pass issued in Greater London. so looks like I will be okay for the bus and the tube.

You are very lucky in the South. Up here in the North the pass is not valid till 09.30, unless you have a hospital appointment card/letter.
Our passes here in the Bath/Bristol/Wiltshire area cannot be used before 9am.
