Easyjet Hand Baggage

Does anyone know how EasyJet applies the "cage" limit? If I have a floppy kit-bag that will easlily fit inside the 56 x45 x25 cage, will it be accepted, even if when carried it has a different shape? The cage allows exactly 63 litres, whereas most "specialist" holdalls are about 44...a lot of unused space.

If your bag will fit into the cage it will fit into a similar space inside the overhead lockers. (which is what really matters). So you should have no problems.

Thanks Chris. That was my hope; being floppy it will fit any space a more rigid bag will and more. I just wonder will an officious baggage/check in operator will see it that way?

the only test I've ever personally seen them apply is to put it into the cage: if it fits, it shouldn't be a problem.

when we flew with them in June, they were charging people who had the right size bag but had to slightly, and I mean slightly, squeeze the bag in. Money making scam!

Thanks Anderlee. I guess they would say if it is a squeeze it is normall bigger than the cage, which they say is the max. Bit like being a minute late for a parking meter; the limit is the limit. I reckon I will try my floppy kit bag, have a camera handy and mutter "small claims court".
