Thai Visa

I am going to Thailand on the 15th November and have an outgoing flight from Singapore on the 18th January to Cairns. Do I need to get a visa as I am planning to leave thailand and visit surrounding countries such as vietnam cambodia and laos. Please help aimee

you're British? You will need one for Cambodia; probably Laos and Vietnam too.

The following assumes that you hold a British passport:

Singapore: "You do not normally need visas to enter Singapore for up to 30 days stay for tourism, business discussions or social visits".

Cambodia: "Visas for Cambodia can be obtained on arrival. Two passport photographs are required. A tourist visa costs US $20 for one month and can be extended for only one extra month. The e-Visa costs US $20. e-Visa can only be used at the main entry crossings with the immigration IT system. Applications should be made through the Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs' website, where full terms and conditions are also listed, with information on which border entry points accept the e-Visa."

"British passport holders arriving by air may enter Thailand for 30 days without obtaining a visa in advance of arrival. However, those arriving at overland crossings will only be given visa free entry valid for 15 days. If you plan to stay in Thailand for longer than the time endorsed on arrival, or you intend to work, you must obtain an extension of stay or a valid visa."

You are allowed to stay in Thailand for 30 days without a visa, ( if you enter by land 15 days). If you overstay then you are fined for everday you overstay (think about £15 )
If you go to the Royal Thai Consulate Hull website you can see all the rules and regulations
They are very quick at issuing a visa about 3 days A one entry visa costs £28

dude! when are you going?! im leaving for bangkok on the 10th nov and doing cambodia, laos and veitnam etc etc! but leaving on the 19th feb! fancy a meet up???? im going on my own and know a bit about the boarder crossings and stuff.
