From venice Airport

My Son is looking at going to Venice for a few days but is aprehensive about how to get from the airport to his hotel near the Rialto bridge. I suggest the Airport coach service to the outskirts and I presume there is some form of water transport you can use, I know the venetian water taxis are around, but very expensive, so would rather find another mode. Has anyone any experience to pass on please.

Assuming that the flight departs from the UK, the arrival airport will be Canova (Treviso) airport for Ryanair flights, or Marco Polo airportfor any other operator.
