How easy is it for UK citizens to find work in and settle in the Canary islands?

Well Joeyshablydo I live in Ibiza so I guess the rules are much the same.  There's a big debate over here as to whether or not you need to apply for residencia - apparently for working the season (6 months) it is not required and for several other reasons but then again it is advisable to have it , so you would need a work contract, rent agreement, health insurance , House deeds (if you bought a house).  The Traffic Cops insist that you have residencia as do the police but the law seems a bit vague due to Spain now being in the ECC.  I've had residencia for many years and so am keeping it up but there are lots of folk here who do not have it and its all fine for them. Go for it!!
