How's You Pet Coping In The Snow.

I have just been out in the garden and cleared a path for my dog to go for a wee on the grass or where it is under the snow .

She has very short legs so I thought it would stop her getting too cold.

She has made a detour of my path, trampsing all in the snow.

I got cold for nothing.

murph (cat) decided to go out earlier and sank, she dried off by the fire, shes blaming me by the sounds of it. somehow i dont think shes'll rush out again....

Both my dogs love the snow. The only problem is the GSD gets ice balls stuck between her toes and she has to keep stopping to bite them out. Otherwise they would spend all day in it, if they could,

Both my GSD's used to love it, in fact they both were quite happy to lay about on the drive till they were covered in it. I used to love watching them play in it. Rain on the other hand was a big no, no. One drop and they were both heading for shelter.

Once had a Yorkie bitch when the snow had covered the decking and the, much lower, lawn, making it all look level. She bounded across the snow on the decking, stepped off the then invisible edge and completely disappeared ! It took her a couple of minutes to dig herself out and give her owner, then falling about laughing, the dirtiest, most accusing, look you ever saw from anybody.

It's funny to have a puppy that sees snow for the first time, sniffing suspiciously before finding the fun in it, but wolfhounds are either so brainless or so naturally equipped, being so tall and well insulated, that my 5 month-old, already the size of an Alsatian, paid no attention to it whatsoever. Disappointing.

Ours have barely been out (not that we have snow, just freezing) - Black Spot likes the snow. The others are using a litter tray in the bathroom - that is, apart from Rover's occasional misdemeanour on the front door mat :-(

Alf grew up in Spain so he's unaccustomed to snow. He loves it. :)

Its been great for snow dogs on the North Yorkshire Coast. Just about every one we met on the cliffs romped with ours the terrier frequently schnorkelling through deep drifts.

I have long haired dogs that used to get lumps of snow form between their feet which were obviously quite painful. Last year I bought some 'mushers secret' from the snow paw store......fantastic stuff.

Tatty, Bolly and Piper will not go out until the sun shines again due to them being spoilt madams!!!!

As I was going to bed last night my Danes were growling and whining at the window...their usual reaction to a fox....but nooooooo! My ginger ninja kitty was putting on a ballet show in the road. My son and I were in fits as our silly cat twirled, swirled and leapt around in the snow!
