Just announced on our local news (East Midlands) that the Northern Lights are visible here. Wow! We can't see them as we live on a hill but overlooking the lights of the town. Then on the National news it said they have been visible tonight as far South as Essex but that it has clouded up down there now.
Can anyone here in the Midlands see them? That would be really special, I have always wanted to .......
Maybe they have got it wrong - just like the 8" of snow they originally forecast for tomorrow and now very sheepishly admitted tonight that we won't get a single flake here!!!
Well the lights have just gone out as usual here after midnight :( so it's pitch dark but still no luck! Two jets have just flown over going in to East Midlands Airport, wonder if they had a good viewing?
Mojo - I know what you mean, it's great to see the stars etc but I somehow don't feel safe - I feel very vulnerable, because if anything awful happened and I had to run for help to a neighbour I'd be too scared to put a foot out of the door. I have been scared of the dark since I was a little girl.
