Long story short, my sister ended up taking me to A&E on Tuesday as i was in a lot of pain in my right rib cage and finding it hard to breathe. Had bloods and CT scan and then saw a really obnoxious doctor yesterday morning who told me that there was nothing wrong with me and discharged me. He made a big deal about the fact that I have a drink problem but I wasnt there because of drink, I was there because I'm in a lot of unexplained pain.
They told me what ISNT causing the pain (liver, pancreas etc) but havnt told me what IS!
Just taking loads of pain killers and a hot water bottle on my ribs.
What the hell am I supposed to do if the hospital have discharged me?

As an aside, could be costochondoitis (sp). I get it, not as painful to make breathing hurt. But is can be a ***.
//Have you been in hospital since Tuesday? Are the painkillers working?
Have you been given antibiotics?//
I was discharged yesterday Tills. No antibiotics. Painkillers doing jack.
//Call 111 and hassle, hassle, hassle!//
Might have to Chris, but dont know if it will get me anywhere when apparently theres nothing wrong....
//Phone gp//
Thats going to have be my next option...
//I agree with Buen's post, call 111, and don't take 'no' for an answer//
But I dont know what would be different...
Bloods and scans showing normal. Then get some
sh*tty DR berating me for having a drink problem and then discharging me with a diagnosis of "probably" inflamed muscle tissue?
Hospitals dont have time for people like me...
It may sound trivial naildit, but trapped wind can cause enormous pain in the side and back. The worst cause of this can be swallowing co2 from canned bottled beers & lagers.
It took me a long time to discover this, and since I now decant bottled beer into a glass jug and whisk it a bit to remove the fizzy gas and drinking it 'flat', I no longer have those painful days.
Just a thought! 🙂
