Robins

Where do they go in the summer?!
The existence of robins is generally confirmed to me by my cat bringing them home in various forms (i.e. dead, half dead or alive). He only does this in December.
Do I have a particularly festive cat?

Small numbers of British Robins are known (mainly the girls it has to be said) cross the Channel to spend the winter as far south as southern Spain and Portugal. What is actually happening is an influx of Scandaheuvian and Russki Robins trying to avoid the cold weather in their chilly homelands to the North swelling our numbers.
