A baby usually needs a certain number of hours sleep a day - made up of a longer night-time sleep and one or two naps during the day. Knowing how much sleep they need to be happy and healthy, it is possible to push a baby's bedtime back so that they sleep later in the morning, but it takes time to alter sleep patterns. The question is: are you able to cope with altering the routine, which may take 2 -3 weeks, or not? My own children, as babies, all went to bed about 9:00pm, and would wake between 8 and 9. That suited me and them. In my experience, people seem to want to complain about how early their children get up, but don't really seem to want to do anything about it! It can be done, how determined are you?
